Got a funny or memorable story?

We’ll pay you $50 to share it.

Our team can also help with writing! You don't need to be a writer or a wine expert. We just want real stories from real people.

We're interested in your authentic, beginner-friendly stories that educate, inspire, or encourage others who are learning about wine.

Here are some ideas, but don't limit yourself:

  • Discovering your first favorite bottle of wine

  • Visiting a winery for the first time

  • Hosting your first wine tasting or wine night

  • Learning wine terminology that finally made everything click

  • Pairing wine with food and what you learned

  • Building your first home wine collection

  • Wine travel experiences

  • A product or accessory that made enjoying wine easier

  • Mistakes you made so other beginners don't have to

  • How your tastes have changed over time

  • Tips that helped you feel more confident ordering wine at a restaurant

  • Your journey from "I don't know anything about wine" to where you are today

Don't worry about being an expert. In fact, we're specifically interested in real experiences from real people. We know most of our readers are beginners, and sometimes hearing from someone who has recently been in their shoes is even more valuable than advice from an expert.

A Few Tips

The stories readers love most usually sound like a conversation with a friend.

Don't worry about using fancy wine terms or sounding like a sommelier. Tell us what happened, what surprised you, what you learned, or what you wish someone had told you when you were starting.

Your story could be the reason someone else feels confident enough to try their next bottle.

Submitting a title and summary lets us get a feel for your story. It's not a guarantee of publication. We'll follow up if we'd like you to write the full piece, and payment ($50) is made once your story is approved and published.
